About Me

Hello, My name is Tracey. I am a wife, sister, daughter, and mother of three. I have taken photos of my children and family members for years. My love for photography became a passion when I received my first 35mm SLR from my wonderful husband for my 1st Mothers Day. Nothing captures a moment in time like a photograph. It is my desire to capture images that reflect life's moments as you remember it.

Thomas

Disappointing News

I received some very disappointing news Thursday night. My father will most likely be laid off from his job by the end of the month. He has worked at this company for over 30 years. The plant will probably be shut down completely by the end of the year if the economy doesn't pick up. My daddy is only 59 years old and is not prepared to retire right now.... To add to the "stress" my baby sister had a "turn key" wedding planned for April. With the lay off of my dad, that wedding is not possible. My daddy is very disappointed that he can not pay for the wedding of my sisters dreams. He stated that he felt like a failure. That broke my heart... Not only hearing my dad's words, but also that Stevie (baby sis) can't have the wedding she has always dreamed of. SO with that being said, I have been kind of down in the dumps...

I receive a Daily Devotional and here is an excerpt of what it said...

You may be surprised—even shocked—by something unexpected that happens today. But remember: God saw it coming and sees how it fits in the big picture of your life. You may not have seen it coming, but God did.
Every experience God gives us, every person He puts in our lives, is the perfect preparation for the future that only he can see.

I needed a reminder that God knows all that is happening before it happens. HE is in control. I know all this will work out. God will see to it..

Please keep my family in your prayers....

In the mean time, we have about 9 weeks to re-plan this wedding on a much "smaller" scale. I have to get busy!

Well I know that every girl wants the wedding of their dreams but what is really important? A very nice ceromony with God watching over with your loved ones witnessing this very special day. I think once the foundation is set, everything else is just a bonus.

I'm sure what ever you all decide, it is going to be beautiful no matter what.

We had a family member get married on a scaled down budger and what we ended up doing was went to Sam's club and bought all the food instead of catering it, my father acually made photography one of his favorite past time so he took all of the pictures and just between the two, it saved a ton of money and still was beautiful.

Good luck and I will be saying a prayer for your family. This economy is hurting the best of all of us.....sigh.....

What a stressful time for your Dad. P&PT's for him. I always say when a door closes you might like what's behind door #2 even better. I hope everything works out.

Sorry to hear about those things- but what a devotion! I see God using this to his glory.

I know your sister was looking forward to her wedding- but ya know, half that stuff she will never remember. Just encourage her that a simple wedding with the most important things will be even more glorious than a fancy wedding with all the trimmings.

My second wedding had a very tight budget- but I laughed more at that wedding than my first wedding.

sorry to hear about your father's impending job lay-off; hopefully things will change by then though. I'm sure it'll be hard on your sister to give up/change her "dream wedding" but the memories of the wedding are more important than all of the extra "stuff" and I bet she can have just as much wonderful time even if it's on a smaller scale! Praying that everything will work out!

I truelly believe that everything happens for a reason. There will be good that comes from this. In the end, just the fact that Stevie and Brock will be united in front of all who love them will be what is most important. It will be a wonderful day!

Ahhh...Tracey, I am so sorry to read this, though I must say, the devotional gives me chills. Which leads me to think that your dad should just "sit pretty" for a liitle while!

Hugs and prayers being sent to your family!

Sorry I have been MIA. My computer is acting really screwy. I still can't get my Google Reader (I am LOST without it!) to work right and I am having problems with lots of pages loading. Last night I was reading my e-mail and the computer just shut-down. I am going to have to have my brother take a look at it when he comes home at the end of the month.

Until then know that I am not tring to ignore you. :o)
