Thomas had his follow up this morning with the oncologist. Dr. Fuh just received test results from a couple of weeks ago and there was evidence that sometime Thomas has had Cat Scratch Disease. It can take months for any kind of signs to surface. He said that it was just a "test" and that might not be the cause. Since Thomas is allergic to cats, he not around them. After he examined Thomas, he said there was significant reduction in the swelling. He said if it were Lymphoma, the antibiotics would not have reduced the swelling. However, he still wants to have a CAT scan done so he can see the lymph nodes deep down that he can not feel. We will do the scan in a couple of weeks. After the doctor reviews the results, he will either prescribe another round of antibiotics, and monitor for a while or set us free!!
Thank-you all so much for your kind words and prayers. Words can not express how much it means to me.
Prayer is a POWERFUL thing.

How scary! I hope that whatever it is just needs those antibiotics to get rid of it. Big hugs to you and Thomas! Also sending many P&PT's.
Wow...this is like the 3rd time I've heard of Cat Scratch this year. Weird. Still, I feel nothing but GREAT for you guys!
I will be praying about the CT-Scan, but I just know it will be fine. XOXO!
I have never heard of that disease. Hope that the scan comes back wonderful and they can finally set you free. Prayers being said.
Tracy,
I know it has been rough the last few weeks. I just read all of your August entries. I'm glad things sounds like they are looking up.
When my 7 year old, then four, had an MRI to determine the reason he couldn't hear in his right ear, I was a basket case. Although it is sad he can't hear in that ear, it was a relief to know that he didn't have cancer or some other disease.
So glad to hear more good news! I've read a lot about cat scratch fever lately, I really had no idea it existed, I'm definitely going to be a lot more cautious now. I'm so relieved to hear that the swelling is down and he's doing better!
glad to hear he is improving.
Now I am going to be singing 'Cat Scratch Fever' in my head ALL day. lol
That is great news. Glad the swelling has gone done.
Still praying for you! I know things will work out ok.
I'm glad to see that Thomas is getting better and everything going on is a lot less scarier! I will continue to pray that he has an easy recovery.
Hope the other boys are doing well as well. I'm assuming school has started? Keep us updated on the everyone else.
Hugs for now,
Kaci
