You Never Know...

You never know what you will come home to in my house! My boys are NUTS! Look where I found Thomas this afternoon when I came home from work....

Enough said....
NOTE:
My kids are supervised. My baby sitter made the assumption that Thomas would sit in the chair (not seen in photo).... Too funny!

Good Times with Friends..

We all got together to watch the ECU Pirates play some football on Saturday. All the kids played outside and the grown-ups sat inside to watch the game. We had barbecue, slaw, corn sticks, and potatoes. YUMMY!! We all munched on chips and basically pigged out! The best part is I got to play with my Mattie! Here are a few pictures....

Oh yeah the Pirates lost... :0(

Ever had "One of Those Days?" I have - today. I am so glad today is Friday! Work is just too much right now. My brain is on shutdown (as far as forklifts go - I know more about a forklift than a girl should EVER know)! I don't know which way is up! Nothing that a good nights rest can't fix! We have busy week-end planned. The family is heading over to a friends house to watch the Pirates play some foot-ball, baseball practice, shop for uniform pants (wish me luck), and a birthday party! Busy, busy, busy!

Family Fun Night @ Chick-Fil-a

We all headed out to Family Fun Night @ Chick-Fil-a. The kids got to see the cow, play games, have their face painted, and make hats! The best part is the kids meals were 99 cents! Talk about cheap entertainment? And I didn't have to cook or clean up a kitchen! Here are some pictures.... BTW, Tanner enjoyed the indoor playground too much to get his face painted LOL!

Cake in a Coffee Mug

A friend of mine gave me a recipe for baking a cake in a mug. I thought the boys would like it so we gave it try. They had a really good time mixing all the ingredients in the mug. You cook this cake in the microwave. They got to push the buttons and all. They had a great time and the mess wasn't bad at all!

CHOCOLATE CAKE-IN-A-MUG***
1 coffee mug
4 Tbsp. cake flour (plain, not self-rising)
4 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. cocoa 1 egg
3 Tbsp. milk
3 Tbsp. oil Small splash of vanilla
3 Tbsp. chocolate chips, optional
Add dry ingredients to mug, mix well with a fork. Add egg, mix thoroughly. Pour in milk and oil and vanilla, mix well. Add chips, if using. Put mug in microwave, and cook for three minutes on 1000 watts. Cake will rise over top of mug--do not be alarmed! Allow to cool a little; tip onto a plate if desired. Eat!

Old Pics... Monster Jam

I finally downloaded the pictures off of my "old" camera this afternoon. I forgot that Frank had taken the boys to see the Monster Truck Jam this past February... I told you they were old pictures. LOL Here are a few. The boys favorite is Gravedigger. We took them to Digger's Dungeon this summer. They had a BLAST.
This particular show was in Raleigh, NC.

Bad Call....

Okay, I know it happens sometimes, but it really stinks when it happens to your kid. Our second baseball game was last night. The team was playing really well. The score was tied at the end of the 4th inning. Thomas (last in the line-up) gets up to hit. We have a runner on third base. He smacks the ball hard. He runs like crazy to 1st and the runner on third makes it home (YEAH). The ball is thrown to first base; the first baseman misses the catch he is safe - Thomas runs like crazy to 2nd!!! (Exciting huh?) The first baseman scrambles to get the ball and threw it to 2nd. Thomas tags the bag, and runs slightly past it. He steps back on the bag as the 2nd baseman catches the ball and is running to the base. The second baseman pushes (not intentionally) Thomas off the bag, and Thomas is called out. The other team's coach even said that he should not be out because he made it back to the base before his player got to the base with the ball.... That SUCKS!!!! Well we sucked it up and didn't make a big deal about it. Then the next inning rolled around... The other team got a run (slopping playing -mostly my kid - he missed a ball it went past him). Then it was our team up to bat - all we needed was one run. The pressure was on again.... Two outs and Thomas is up to bat. He hit 3 foul balls, and then missed on the last swing... Game over. We lost by one run.... :0( SO in my mind, if the bad call hadn't been made we could have won the game.... Oh well, it happens sometime! Good thing there is always another game to be played....

Tag Flipball???

My 4 year old was outside playing around in the yard and asked me a question- Here is how the conversation went....

Tanner: "Mommy... Do you wanna play flip-ball?"

Mommy: "Do I want to play what???" (confused look on my face)

Tanner: "Do you wanna play tag flipball?" (he is looking at me like I was crazy!!)

Mommy: (realizing he had a football behind his back) "Do you mean football??"

Tanner: "YES the tag kind!!"

Mommy: "Okay what do I do?"

Tanner: "You try to catch me - while I run - and then you jump on top - on top of me - and then you push me down!" Then you take the flipball (voice getting higher in octaves) and run I get to push you!"

Mommy: "Tanner I don't think you want Mommy to tackle you - it might hurt!"

Tanner (shrugging shoulders) "Okay"

and away he goes......

Monday Already???

Will it really be Monday when I wake up tomorrow? The week-ends just go by way too fast. We had a lazy day in Saturday and we took off to the beach today. It was kinda crazy since gas prices are soaring. Thank goodness, I filled my tank up right before it went up on Friday.
We will have a busy week with two baseball games and I have a TON of work to do on my desk. I will try to post pics from the games....
Until next time tootles!

First Rookie Baseball Game

Thursday Thomas has his first Rookie baseball game. He played OK in the out field and got 2 base hits! I was really proud of him. He had a little trouble staying focused in the out field. He actually pulled his shirt over his head! He had a good time and we won the game! I took some pictures, but I had a setting wrong on my camera, and they did not turn out well. :0( Here are a few pictures from the game!

Getting warmed up!

A little Pep talk...

Thomas up to bat.

Check out my Best Friend's baby Mattie! Her picture is posted online at the Parenting.com!
I hope she makes the printed magazine. How cool would that be????

Moaning Monday....

It has definitely been a Monday... The boys were hard to get out of bed this morning, and hard to tend to this evening. Frank has to work late so I have the boys, dinner, baths, and the homework to myself. The dishes and lunch packing can wait until they go to bed... Which I am sure will be a "fun" event. This is all okay though - Thank God I have them! They are loud and crazy sometimes, but I wouldn't have it any other way....
Thomas has his first "Rookie" game tomorrow. Say a little prayer that he plays well and has a good time. Tyler and Tanner can't wait to see him play. I will try to post pictures tomorrow.
Tyler had homework today. He was so excited! My friend Kim tried to help him with it and he was insistent that he wait for Mom. It was too sweet. He was so proud to practice writing his name. Tomorrow we practice letters. He is a little worried about those sight words. We start those on Friday....
Until next time!

Ferry Ride to Fossil Hunt

Today we took the boys on a ferry ride over to Aurora and visited the Aurora Fossil Museum. The boys got stickers from a ferry attendant and got to dig for sharks teeth. We found lots of teeth, shells and coral. We had a really great day and alot of fun! Here are a few pictures....

Tropical Storm Update

Well, Tropical Storm Hanna has made her way through our state today and is on her way up north. It wasn't too bad of a storm. There was lots of wind and a surprising little amount of rain. We all stayed tucked in the house today keeping busy. I cleaned base boards and chair rail moldings most of the day. I washed sheets, along with the usual stuff. All in all it wasn't a bad day. The boys played game boy and play station to keep busy. We cooked chicken for dinner and brownies for dessert. We called Grammy because today is her birthday. We sang Happy Birthday to her over the phone. I guess we will have to take her to dinner when we get down there.
Here are some pictures of the boys today. I will have to attached a couple of pictures of Tyler playing Guitar Hero. If you look at Thomas you will get a laugh. I did not notice the "event" until
I was scrolling through the pictures. It is FUNNY!

Tanner playing with Spider Man.

Tropical Storm Hanna

Well it looks like Tropical Storm Hanna will be making her way through our area tomorrow evening and early Saturday. I am sure we will be tying everything down tomorrow morning. I will most likely be running out to the grocery store to grab some essentials in case the power goes out. I don't think that it will be too big of a deal, but it can't hurt to be prepared. The boys are convinced that the storm will get them out of school tomorrow. My guess is they will go for at least a half day, but I guess we will have to wait and see...

Tanner starts school...

Well Mr. Tanner started Montessori today. He had a great day with no bathroom accidents. We have been over 4 weeks now... Thank the Good Lord! When I asked him what he did today, I got the same old answer but with a twist! He played outside (same old thing) with Maria (the twist). I guess he will carry on Thomas and Tyler's legacy for being the "Ladies Man of Montessori". He now has a "girlfriend". He says she chases him around the playground... Who can blame the little girls from chasing him around? He is so cute! I would post a picture of his first day, but daddy failed to take the picture for me.... BAD-BAD-BAD. I will have to post his pic tomorrow. I have a feeling he won't forget tomorrow morning! LOL

Here is a picture from this week-end anyway...

Long Week-end

Our long week-end is coming to a close. We had a really great time together this week-end. We met some new friends over @ Dale and Bobbie Jo's house this week-end. We got together to celebrate Dale's birthday. We had lots of food and fun by the pool. The boys swam for hours. The pool felt really nice - it was HOT. The grown-ups sat around and chatted it up. Of course we all got to play with Mattie. Frank and I took the boys to the beach for the day. The ocean was incredibly rough. We were able to find a "swimming pool" for them to play. They had a blast. It is time to get ready for school tomorrow now. I will check in later....
